LUKAS MJARTAN

Lukas Mjartan was born in 1975, in the country formerly known as Czechoslovakia,
today's Slovakia. After his studies at the University of Bratislava, he worked with Zora Palova and Stephan Pala (Slovakian born glass artists).

His major interest lies in kiln-formed glass, especially in casting techniques. The majority of his works are inspired by contrasting rigid geometrical forms in architecture with gentle curves. He uses the light and the thickness of the mass to play with the intensity of the colour, thus creating interspace glass paintings.
