Peter Houk is a studio glass artist, instructor, and director of the Glass
Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Trained as a painter
and printmaker, Houk incorporates graphic imagery into work ranging from
relatively small blown pieces to large-scale architectural installations.
Houk has been an artist in residence at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and a fellow at the Creative Glass Center of America at Wheaton
Village, New Jersey. His work is included in the collections of the Corning
Museum of Glass and the American Museum of Glass in New Jersey. This piece
is part of an ongoing series inspired by ?The Big Dig,? in Boston, the
largest public works project in the United States.
