my current body of work focuses
on organic forms suggestive of objects found in the natural world. these
objects posses a quality in their form which speaks to the observer in
a visceral way.
i've chosen to explore forms and objects, which at some level, are familiar to us all. artifacts from ancient civilizations, petroglyphs, and tribal tattoos are just a few subjects i attempt to reinterpret in the fused metal series.
the
word "dense" best decribes the sculptural chandeliers, installations
and wall pieces i am currently working on. i try to imagine the individual
components of a work as single pixels and attempt to fit as many of these
"pixels" in a given amount of surface area on the frame as possible.
this helps to create unique coloring patterns and gradients.
